Help Desk Live - Generated code 11 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I installed your module flawlessly, it looked promising!

I saw it on my Joomla 1.5.14 site, I installed Help Desk Live 2.1.7 and we were off to the races.

I pasted the generated HTML code, then tried Image and text. Nothing seemed to work for changing the "offline" to "online". I first checked out the HDL forums, posted but haven't hear back yet.

One poster said they had to include a screen refresh html code into their site to work. Here's my post: www.helpcenterlive.com/smf/installation_...html;msg4394#msg4394

When I tried the code suggested to wrap the generated code in refresh cycle I finally saw a request I initiated to the web site visitor (me in another browser!).

This tells me that the area I paste the generated code isn't formatted right or that Joomla isn't looking at it properly.

To summarize:

My site even when logged and supposedly "online" only shows me as "offline"

I add the html refresh wrapper code and I see new pics / graphics on the page to accept or deny the session my logged in support user initiated.

Conclusion: Something's wrong with the module where you paste the generated code.

Any help would be great! Oh it's late and I've been working on this for a while.

Actually this module outputs ANYTHING on the screen. You can use it for ANY html code or something else that displays something on the screen. It doesn't have to be HCL related. Please do a test on a separate page outside your joomla installation to see first if it's working properly. Then, copy that into this module.

Please use HCL 2.1.7 because this is the stable version.

I am also having this issue that the Online / Offline status does not show changed on the web site. Regardless of whether or not the operator is logged in or not on HCL, it always shows offline on the web site(s). I have also tried what they suggest on the HCL forum, but no solutions has worked for me.

I also get no errors from the web server so everything appears to be set correctly. I followed all directions very precisely more than once, I was told on the comments for the HCL module page to reinstall fresh and still the same thing is the result so reinstalling is surely not the fix for this issue.

Has anyone yet come to a resolution to this problem?

This is not a module issue. Please try to test HCL online/offline status on a simple HTML page on your domain, not in your joomla installation. See if it's working. If it's not working, than it's a HCL problem. I remember that I had the same problem and I solved it by reading their forums. This is how this module was born
